Xerte

a free online authoring tool developed by the University of Nottingham that allows staff to create interactive and accessible Learning materials that can be easily shared. Xerte is an open source project which now has international support from the Apereo Foundation.

Xerte is a template-based authoring tool which makes it ideal for students to create "e-learning" without having to be programmers. Students can then develop their digital literacy by compiling resources and making them interactive. This is a case-study example by language students called Insegna così impari from the University of Bristol. (Plays better in Chrome or Firefox)
