Student Response System
Student Response Systems (SRS) enable students to use their own device (phone, tablet, laptop) or a special handset (clicker) to submit their response to questions shown on screen in class. The software collects all the responses and shows a graph of the results.
Typical uses include:
- multiple-choice questions to assess understanding of lesson content - providing immediate personal feedback to each student and an overview of the class to the tutor;
- enabling students to vote on options that will determine the focus or sequence of a lesson;
- inviting students' opinions on a question in order to stimulate discussion;
- asking 'ConcepTest' questions as part of a peer instruction approach
Example software: Poll Everywhere, Socrative
